Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Parchment Holdings LLC, [address, to be added] ("tarpp", "we", "us") for your use of the tarpp iPhone app, its Safari extension and this website (together, "tarpp"). By creating an account or using tarpp, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

Not financial advice

tarpp is not a financial advisor, investment adviser, broker-dealer or bank, and doesn't give investment, financial, tax or legal advice. Nothing in tarpp is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment or to open an account with any firm.

tarpp never holds, moves or invests your money. "Invest instead" opens your own brokerage's website; any deposit or investment you make there is your own decision, made with that firm under its terms. A "redirect" in tarpp records your choice not to buy something; it doesn't mean any money moved.

Projections in tarpp, such as what an amount "could be" in 10 or 20 years, assume a 10% average annual return based on the S&P 500's historical average. They're illustrations, not predictions or promises. Actual returns vary, can be negative, and past performance doesn't guarantee future results. Investing involves risk, including the loss of money you invest.

tarpp isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any brokerage, bank or store, including those you link or shop with. Their names and logos belong to them.

Your account

• You need an account to use tarpp. You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
• You must be at least [age, to be confirmed in legal review] to use tarpp.
• You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings › Data › Delete account).

Linked accounts and Plaid

Linking an investment account is optional and is done through Plaid Inc. By linking one, you allow Plaid to share information from that account with us as described in our Privacy Policy, and you agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. Balances and deposits come from your institution through Plaid and can be delayed, incomplete or wrong; your institution's own records are the authority.

The Safari extension

The extension works on the websites you allow in Safari's settings. It reads product pages to find a product's name, price and picture, and may not recognise every store, product or price correctly. It never completes, blocks or cancels a purchase: whether you buy something is always up to you.

tarpp Pro

• Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, sold through the App Store. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
• A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• New subscribers may be offered a free trial. One free trial per Apple Account. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts.
• Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or in tarpp at Settings › Plan › Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Deleting your tarpp account doesn't cancel a subscription.
• If Pro ends while you have more linked connections than Free includes, the extra connections stop updating; after 90 days without updating they're removed, and you can link them again.

Your use of tarpp downloaded from the App Store is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple isn't responsible for tarpp or its support.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse tarpp. In particular, don't try to access other people's accounts or data, interfere with or overload the service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it for anything unlawful.

Our content

tarpp, its design, name and logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes while you follow these terms. Your data stays yours; you give us permission to store and process it only to run tarpp, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features, and tarpp may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms; if a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use tarpp after that means you accept the new terms.

Ending

You can stop using tarpp and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

Disclaimers

tarpp is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that tarpp will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Figures in tarpp, including balances, deposits, totals, goals and projections, are for information only.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for any investment, purchase or financial decision you make, whether or not you used tarpp in making it. Our total liability for any claim relating to tarpp is limited to the amount you paid us for tarpp in the 12 months before the claim.
